Tofino and Ucluelet Coastline – Carved Wood Topographical Map

Tofino and Ucluelet hold a very special place in the hearts of people on the west coast. The surf capital of Canada, Tofino is famous for its long stretches of sandy beaches, surfable waves, epic sunsets and laid-back west coast lifestyle.

From Wickaninnish Bay in the centre, the map extends outward, tracing the coastline. Fine details of many beloved beaches like Cox, Chesterman and Long Beach are visible.

The area pictured is located within Nuu-chah-nulth territory, in the heart of Clayoquot Sound. The region’s lush rainforests, hot springs and remote islands with trails flanked by ancient giant cedars are the stuff of legends. Wolves, cougars and black bears make their home here. Much of the map area is protected as part of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.

Year round, visitors and locals alike ride waves and explore the ocean inlets. Boats and floatplanes provide access to magical spots that are inaccessible by land.

This piece was carved out of Douglas fir sourced on Vancouver Island. It’s a perfect hanging for the wall of anyone who has fallen in love with the beauty of Tofino and its surroundings.
