Mount Robson – Carved Wood Topographical Map

Mount Robson is the highest point in the Canadian Rockies and the second highest peak in British Columbia. At 12,972 feet, it’s the most prominent mountain in North America’s Rocky Mountain range.

The mountain is located within Secwepemc territory. The Texqakallt, the earliest known inhabitants of the area, called it Yuh-hai-has-kun: “the mountain of the spiral road.” The colossal peak towers over the west side of Mount Robson Provincial Park; its south face is visible from the Yellowhead Highway.

Moose, elk, caribou, mountain goats, sheep, black bears and grizzlies make their homes in the park’s alpine reaches and remote valleys. Part of the UNESCO Canadian Rocky Mountains World Heritage Site, it comprises part of one of the world’s largest blocks of protected areas. The park protects the pristine alpine headwaters of the mighty Fraser River.

This iconic mountainscape is carved into a slice of Garry Oak. It is a perfect gift for anyone who has spent time hiking, camping or adventuring in the area.
