UpBeet Farm, Nicola Valley
"This piece is a milestone in our long term planning and commitment to our land. It helps remind us every day of the bigger picture."
- Robert Spring
This custom coffee table was commissioned by Robert Spring as a gift for his family. Using 3D data collected using a drone, we carved this topographical map with details down to the level of individual trees.
It is a symbol of the farm vision, offering a great conversation starter and a way for guests to orient themselves to the landscape. A compass carved on the corner points the way to the four directions. The wood is from a large poplar tree sourced from a local company.
The Springs’ vision for UpBeet Farm was to turn a dusty ranch into a thriving farm producing a nutritious and delicious yield for themselves and nearby farmer’s markets.
The farm is situated in a very fragile semi-arid ecosystem where water is precious. It is located in the Upper Nicola Valley in the interior of British Columbia, on Nlaka’pamux and Okanagan territory.
