Vancouver Island Inlay Boardroom Table

For this glass top table, a 3D topographical map of Vancouver Island and surrounding islands was carved in maple and inlaid into a sea of reclaimed old-growth Douglas fir. It was built for Ryzuk Geotechnical, whose founders wanted something special to feature in their boardroom.

Island Living is a tribute to spectacular Vancouver Island. The 3D map of the Island, surrounding islands and the southern Great Bear Rainforest on a live edge maple slab was a custom creation for the 2019 oneTree Exhibit at the Bateman Foundation Gallery of Nature.

This carving on a slice of a culturally modified cedar tree features a map of the region where the tree grew in Nuu-chah-nulth territory on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The blue highlights point to Nitinat, Hobiton and other nearby lakes, leading out to the Pacific Ocean.

This custom 3D topographical map of Calvert Island was commissioned by Keith Holmes, a geographer and mapper with the Hakai Institute. Keith commissioned the carving of Calvert Island on a piece of Douglas fir as a gift for the institute.

UpBeet Farm, Nicola Valley

This custom coffee table was commissioned by Robert Spring as a gift for his family. Using 3D data collected using a drone, we carved this topographical map with details down to the level of individual trees. It is a symbol of the farm vision, offering a great conversation starter and a way for guests to orient themselves to the landscape.
